A Note for Today:
The Phillies have put together a sweep of the Marlns in walk-off fashion with a pinch hit 2-run home run by Jeff Francouer in the 9th inning last night, and will now face the Tampa Bay Rays as they look to move forward in the second half of the season.
Ryan Howard will take a seat on the bench against the lefty, Matt Moore, who will be making his 4th start since Tommy John surgery. Darin Ruf will get the start in his place at first, while Francouer will get the start in right field and take Howard’s cleanup spot in the order.
David Buchanan will be getting his 2nd start tonight after his Minor League stint for a few weeks. Buchanan went 5.0 innings against the San Francisco Giants on July 11th, allowing only one earned run and striking out three batters.
Cesar Hernandez is getting the look at the leadoff spot, perhaps in wake of trade rumors involving Ben Revere?
Lineup:
Hernandez 2B, Revere LF, Franco 3B, Francouer RF, Ruf 1B, Galvis SS, Herrera CF, Rupp C, Buchanan RHP
