Report: Phillies-Dodgers “moving closer” to Utley deal

*UPDATE: According to CBSSports’ Jon Heyman, the Phillies and Dodgers have agreed on a deal to send Utley to Los Angeles for two minor leaguers and $2 million of Utley’s remaining $6 million. Nothing has been made official as of yet, however.

According to MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki, the Phillies and Dodgers are getting “closer” to a Chase Utley trade.

ESPN’s Buster Olney reported that the Angels and Dodgers would be the likely landing spots for the 36-year-old, but it appears that the Dodgers have separated themselves in negotiations. If Utley does go to the Dodgers, he will be reunited with former teammate Jimmy Rollins.

CSNPhilly.com’s Jim Salisbury has also reported that a source close to Utley has said that if a deal doesn’t materialize today, then Utley will stay in Philadelphia.

It’s beginning to look like last night’s two-hit performance could have been Utley’s final game in a Phillies uniform.
