A Note for Today:

After an astounding walk-off home run last night by Cody Asche, the Phillies look to split the series with the Cubs here today in the final game.

Aaron Harang will fight to keep his spot in the rotation today after pitching 5.0 innings in his last start, giving up 8 hits and 5 earned runs on September 7th against the Atlanta Braves.

Aaron Altherr will get his first look in the cleanup spot, as they push Ryan Howard into the 5th and move Cameron Rupp up yet again in the order.  Brian Bogusevic will get the start tonight in right field after coming off the bench in last nights’ endeavor.

Cody Asche’s 8th home run came in the bottom of the 9th inning and was anything but impressive.  Asche continues to show the sneaky power he holds in his home runs, his furthest reaching 418 feet on August 7th.  Fun fact: one year ago yesterday, Cody Asche also hit his first walk-off homerun.

1:35 EST start time.

Lineup:

Hernandez 2B, Galvis SS, Herrera CF, Altherr LF, Howard 1B, Rupp C, Bogusevic RF, Asche 3B, Harang RHP
