Here is a holiday weekend shocker: first baseman Ryan Howard has been accused of using Delta-2, a hormone supplement designed to evade drug tests, specifically banned by Major League Baseball in its anti-PED policy.
The accusations against Howard, as well as Nationals’ All-Star Ryan Zimmerman and eight-year MLB veteran catcher Taylor Teagarden, have been levied by a pharmacist Charlie Sly who had previously been employed at an anti-aging practice in Indiana called the Guyer Institute. Sly says his comments were recorded without his permission and the attorney for both Howard and Zimmerman have released a statement through MLB Trade Rumors that indicate that both of his clients are innocent
.Sly has already retracted or recanted statements made in the documentary, which also implicate future Hall of Fame Quarterback Peyton Manning as well as British Olympic hurler Liam Collins, but is reportedly seen on camera discussing a D2 regiment with Teagarden in one scene. It is unknown if MLB, the NFL, or any Olympic agencies are participating with Al Jazeera to determine the validity of claims made in this explosive documentary.
