The Phillies have agreed to terms with their first overall selection Micky Moniak on Monday afternoon on a $6.1 million signing bonus.
Accompanied by his family, the 18-year-old signed his first pro contract at Citizens Bank Park shortly after taking his physical with team physicians.
Moniak, a 6-foot-2 190lb. outfielder, has one of the purest swings in his draft class. Some went as far to say he could be Gold Glove outfielder in the future, given his athleticism.
The senior from La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, CA should be starting his professional career for the rookie level Gulf Coast League Phillies next week.
