Jake Thompson To Make Major League Debut Saturday

Phillies top prospect, starting pitcher Jake Thompson, will make his Major League debut Saturday night in San Diego.

Thompson, acquired in the Cole Hamels trade last season, is an impressive 11-5 with a 2.50 ERA in Triple-A Lehigh Valley. In his last ten starts, Thompson is 7-0 while registering a minuscule 1.32 ERA.

The former second round pick is ultimately taking Aaron Nola‘s spot in the rotation, who was placed on the DL prior to Wednesday’s game. Thompson was scheduled to pitched Friday night for the Iron Pigs, but instead, will pitch Saturday for the Phillies, pushing back all other big league starters.
