Nine years ago I wrote my first post for Phillies Nation – a green writer excited just to say something about my favorite baseball team. At the time the Phils were fresh off an early postseason exit, giving us fans a lot of hope for the future. And I started at the perfect time – the 2008 Phillies was the team of our lifetime, winning the World Series, capturing our full attention for one incredible summer and fall.
I left Phillies Nation in 2009 but returned sparingly, until I came back for good last year to write irregular posts. I’m excited to add a new dimension to my work here, as I’m now taking the reins as editorial director of Phillies Nation.
Through Phillies Nation’s history, we’ve done everything from keeping a daily website to hosting road trips to a starting podcast to producing a weekly television show. I’m excited to guide us through the next chapter of the website, as the possibilities are various and endless.
As the offseason begins, you’ll see some small, subtle changes at Phillies Nation. Early on we hope to increase post volume and consistency by adding writers, focusing more on news and essential information, and producing engaging features. Most of all, we’re going to strive to be the voice of Phillies fans across the globe. Sure we’ll have commentaries and opinions, but we’re looking to increase interactivity and fan support, as well.

A big thanks to Publisher Brian Michael for his ongoing support.
This is an awesome time to be a Phillies fan; It feels a little like it did just before the incredible 2007-11 run, in fact – the future looks especially bright. Stay with us as we shine our lights along the road.
