How’s that for a debut? Daniel Nava hit two home runs in his first two at-bats as a Phillie today in the series clincher against Cincinnati. Nava made the team after hitting an impressive .386/.422/.523 in 44 spring training at bats.
Phillies fans may remember when Nava hit a grand slam in his first plate appearance with the Boston Red Sox off of Joe Blanton in 2010. Since then, Nava has traveled around the league, playing with the Rays, Angels and Royals. This was Nava’s first multi-home run game.
The Phils were up 4-1 after Nava’s homers and a wild pitch sending Odubel Herrera home. But the Reds came back off Clay Buchholz and Adam Morgan, and are now up 7-4 in the eighth inning. Follow along with us on Twitter @philliesnation.
