Report: Phillies considering Indians’ pitching coach Callaway for position

More manager stuff!

It’s time for a daily news report.

Phillies tee up Callaway

The Phillies are reportedly interested in Mickey Callaway for the managerial position. Callaway, 42, is currently the Indians pitching coach, heading a unit that ranked first in the American League in just about every pitching category. That’s not a fluke, either, as the Indians have been a top-three staff for the last three seasons.

Callaway has been their pitching coach since 2013, and surely helped the team turn around their fortunes on the mound.

Rupp lends a hand

Cameron Rupp is known for his community service, especially in regards to the PSPCA and helping pets find a new home. But recently he took matters into his own hands.

Rupp adopted a Cane Corso, naming her Lola, on Oct. 3, according to NBC Philadelphia. Lola will live with Rupp and his other dog, Chief.

Good dude.

Flatitude

Once again, the Washington Nationals will not win a World Series.

It’s Cubs vs. Dodgers and Astros vs. Yankees. Go Astros!

Tim Malcolm

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
