2018 Gameday

Gameday 2018: Reds (2-6) at Phillies (3-5)

After an up and down start after which the Phillies find themselves 3-5, they get to face the Cincinnati Reds, owners of a 2-6 record. So, this is a golden opportunity for the Phillies to really make a move in the National League East. Hopefully the boys come out swinging tonight.

Gametime: 7:05 p.m.

The lineup:

  1. Hernandez – 2B
  2. Santana – 1B
  3. Herrera – CF
  4. Hoskins – LF
  5. Franco – 3B
  6. Kingery – SS
  7. Altherr – RF
  8. Alfaro – C
  9. Lively – P

Pitchers: Ben Lively (0-1, 3.18 ERA) vs. Cody Reed (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

Maikel Franco moves up to the five-hole after a hot start, while Nick Williams and J.P. Crawford join Pedro Florimon on the bench.

Your Gameday Beer: The New England IPA scene is crowded. Nearly every brewery takes a stab at some hazy, fruity cloud smacker that aims to pep you up like some hop-tastic elixir. It’s hard to go too wrong in the northeast, with both warehouse facilities and one-room shack breweries from New York to Maine all doing the style some justice. One of my favorite farm-style NEIPAs is Kent Falls Brewing’s The Juicemaker. Kent Falls does a lot of good stuff with primarily farm-grown ingredients – this one is brewed with not-so-Connecticuty mango, but it certainly has some lemony tones, too. Also lots of brett. Juicy.
