There was no game last night. There is one today. It is Mother’s Day. It is also NolaDay.
Happy day to all!
Gametime: 1:35 p.m. but likely to be delayed
The lineup:
- Hernandez – 2B
- Altherr – RF
- Herrera – CF
- Hoskins – LF
- Santana – 1B
- Franco – 3B
- Kingery – SS
- Alfaro – C
- Nola – P
Pitchers: Aaron Nola (5-1, 2.05 ERA) vs. Jacob deGrom (3-0, 1.87 ERA)
Talk about a pitching matchup. Sheesh.
Your Gameday Beer: Another #NolaDay beer: Abita Wrought Iron IPA, which is floral with a blast of Mosaic, Apollo and Equinox hops. Of course, seeing that it’s Mother’s Day, maybe you’re also enjoying a brunch cocktail like a mimosa or bloody Mary. That’s fine. Do what you have to do. But don’t come crying to me when the drink choice jinxes the Phillies today.
Go Phillies!
Tim MalcolmTim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
