Shake Shack is one of the concessions that will replace McFadden’s at Citizens Bank Park

The personnel changes that the Philadelphia Phillies seem likely to undergo this offseason won’t be the only changes coming to Citizens Bank Park.

Earlier this week, McFadden’s Pub announced that their location at Citizens Bank Park will close at the conclusion of the season. According to Michael Klein of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Shake Shack will be setting up shop in part of the redesigned area where McFadden’s is currently located. McFadden’s is scheduled to close “in the near future,” but will be open for the Philadelphia Eagles-Minnesota Vikings game on Oct. 7.

McFadden’s has been around since Citizens Bank Park opened in 2004. It served as an ideal restaurant and bar for fans of not only the Phillies, but for Flyers, Sixers and Eagles fans looking to grab a quick bite or drink before games. McFadden’s then received more competition when Xfinity Live! opened in 2012, which offered more in terms of entertainment and concessions.

The New York City based Shake Shack is already familiar with the Philadelphia sports complex, as there is already one in place near the Wells Fargo Center. Shake Shack and their menu should fit right in at Citizens Bank. It is unknown what other concessions will be joining Shake Shack in the McFadden’s space in 2019.
