“The Baron” is the former Philadelphia Phillies head of community relations, a role in which he served the organization for more than four decades. Larry is also a 2018 inductee to the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame.

Player — INF Arquimedes Gamboa, Reading… Gamboa, 21, posted a .391/.462/.652 slash line, going 9-for-23 with two doubles, two triples, three RBI, three walks and three stolen bases in six games. He is batting .355 (11–31) over his last nine games, including five multi-hit efforts in that span. A native of Venezuela, he was signed by the Phillies as an amateur free agent in July 2014.
Pitcher — RHP Kyle Glogoski, Lakewood… The 20-year-old recorded 15 strikeouts over two games (8.0 IP), including one start. He allowed just two hits and no walks combined in his scoreless appearances. The righty struck out 11 of the 17 batters he faced on May 25 against Kannapolis. He has a 0.55 ERA (1 ER, 16.1 IP) with 28 strikeouts in five games (1 GS) this season. A New Zealand native, Glogoski was signed by the Phillies as an amateur free agent in January 2018.

**IronPigs (26–21) were rained out of a doubleheader (7-inning games) against the Red Sox in Pawtucket. DH included a May 29 postponement . . . **Fightin Phils (28–19) rode a season-high four home runs and the left arm of a 23-year-old to a 7–1 win over the visiting Erie Sea Wolves; start of game was delayed by rain for 50 minutes. Game two of the series, 6:45 tonight, Bailey Falter
(4–2) . . . Trenton leads division followed by Binghamton (1/2 game behind) and Reading (1 game behind).Pitching: David Parkinson, 12th round selection out of Ole Miss in 2017, improved to 5–2, 7–2–1–1–2–7; retired last 12 batters he faced; third straight win; longest outing of the season; first win at home after 0–2; 88 pitches, 62 strikes . . . Jonathan Hennigan, 1–0–0–0–0–1 and Garret Cleavinger, 1–0–0–0–1–2, finished the game.
Hitting: Reading had nine hits (five for extra bases), six walks and three stolen bases . . . **BlueClaws (17–33) were handed a 7–1 loss by Kannapolis to close out a 2–2 home stand against the Intimidators . . . Travel day today to Greensboro, NC; 4-game series begins on Thursday night. BlueClaws played there on May 17–20.
Pitching: LP: James McArthur (0–3), 33-pitch first inning, .2–2–2–2–1–0. Four other pitchers rounded out the night.
Hitting: 2B Hunter Stovall had two of Lakewood’s four hits, including a double, their lone extra-base hit . . . SS Jonathan Guzman, 1–4, RBI; extended his hitting streak to a season-high 11 games.
Medical Updates
Two pitchers have undergone Tommy John surgery this month: 19-year-old RH Ben Brown and Kevin Young, a 6-foot-10, 21-year-old LH. Both will be rehabbing at Carpenter Complex.
