Larry Shenk’s Phillies Minor League Report is a regular feature at Phillies Nation

Phillies Nation is honored to have Larry Shenk among the ranks of our regular contributors.

“The Baron” is the former Philadelphia Phillies head of community relations, a role in which he served the organization for more than four decades. Larry is also a 2018 inductee to the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame.

In addition to the Phillies alumni and history work which Larry shares with readers here at Phillies Nation, his “Minor League Report” pieces now also run with us all during the season as well.

Lehigh Valley, International League North Division

**IronPigs (29-28) strung together two singles, a sacrifice bunt and two-run walk-off double to defeat Pawtucket, 4-3. Win ended a three-game losing streak . . . LV left after the game for Buffalo. Three-game weekend series with the Bisons begins at 7:05 tonight, Tom Eshelman (1-0, 1-3 overall) . . . Pigs are in second place, 4 games out of first.

Pitching: ND: Drew Anderson, 4-5-2-2-3-5, two home runs, two wild pitches . . . Alexis Rivero, 2-3-1-1-2-2 . . . Seth McGarry, 2-1-0-0-1-1 . . . WP: Tom Windle (5-0), 1-0-0-0-0-1, wild pitch.

Hitting: RF Jan Hernandez (fifth at-bat) delivered the walk-off double to left field on a 1-2 pitch following a single (3B Damek Tomscha), sacrifice (SS Malquin Canelo) and single (LF Lane Adams). Hernandez was playing his second game after a five-week stint on the injured list . . . Tomscha also had another single in four at-bats . . . CF Nick Williams, 2-4, RBI, double, triple.

Reading, Eastern League Eastern Division

**Fightin Phils (32-24) pushed across a run in the top of the ninth for a 3-2 win over the RubberDucks in Akron.  Victory salvaged one game in the three-game series . . .

Back home tonight at 7:10 for the start of a three-game series vs. the Harrisburg Senators, Adonis Medina (3-2) . . . Fightins are 1.5 games out of first with 11 games remaining in the first half.

Pitching: Four pitchers held Akron to two runs on eight hits . . . ND: Ramon Rosso, 6-5-1-1-2-4, home run . . . Jose Taveras, .2-0-0-0-1-0 . . . Jeff Singer (BS, 1), .1-2-1-1-1-0 . . . WP: Addison Russ (1-3), 2-1-0-0-0-3

Hitting: LF Josh Stephen’s two-out, bases loaded single drove in the winning run. In the sixth inning, he doubled and scored on a double by CF Mickey Moniak who also had two hits, both doubles . . . 3B Austin Listi’s sacrifice fly plated a run in the fourth . . . RF Grenny Cumana, who had a 10-game hitting streak snapped the night before, was 4-4, all singles.

Clearwater, Florida State League North Division

**Threshers (32-28) completed their domination of the Jupiter Hammerheads, 2-1, in a snappy 1 hour, 56 minutes at Spectrum Field. Season series ended 7-1 . . . Final road series of the first half is this weekend in Daytona. Three-game series begins at 7:05 tonight, Damon Jones (3-3) . . . Two teams are tied for second place, 4.5 games behind Dunedin. Magic number for elimination is 6.

Pitching: Great pitching from WP Ethan Evanko (3-1, 5-0 overall), 7-3-1-1-1-6; had a no-hitter for 6.2 innings before allowing a home run to C Nick Fortes

; lowered Clearwater ERA to 1.84 and season ERA to 1.93 (2-0 in 9 relief appearances until May 5 promotion to High-A ball where he’s started five games) . . . SV: Keylan Killgore (6), 2-1-0-0-0-4; 6-for-6 in saves . . . Staff now has 599 strikeouts as they continue to lead the FSL in that category.

Hitting: 3B Matt Kroon, 1-3, RBI, a run-scoring single for the first run in the fifth inning . . . 1B Madison Stokes, 2-3, run, HR (7) in the sixth inning . . . Each team had four hits.

Who’s In Charge? Threshers and Florida Operations had 15 employees attend the 3 p.m. David P. Montgomery Celebration of Life event at Citizens Bank Park.

Lakewood, South Atlantic League North Division

**BlueClaws (21-38) saw their three-game winning streak end, 3-2, to Greensboro before a home crowd of 6,822. The Grasshoppers scored two in the top of the ninth for a 3-1 lead. Lakewood answered with one. The game ended with the tying run on third and winning run on first as C Jack Conley grounded to first base . . . 5:35 doubleheader (7-inning games) tonight, Victor Santos (2-6) and TBD. Greensboro is 10-1 vs. Lakewood.

Pitching: ND: Dominic Pipkin, 3-2-0-0-0-1-1, hit batter . . . Luis Carrasco, 2-1-0-0-0-3, wild pitch . . . Jhordany Mezquita, 3-3-1-1-2-2 . . . LP: Mark Potter (0-2), 1-2-2-2-1-0, home run.

Hitting: All eight hits were singles. They left 12 runners on base, seven in scoring position . . . CF Carlos De La Cruz, 3-4, RBI . . . 3B Luke Miller, 1-2, two walks, run, RBI.

**New York-Penn League (Williamsport Crosscutters) season opens June 14.

**Gulf Coast League season opens June 24 at Carpenter Complex.  Phillies again will field two teams, East and West.
