“The Baron” is the former Philadelphia Phillies head of community relations, a role in which he served the organization for more than four decades. Larry is also a 2018 inductee to the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame.

In addition to the Phillies alumni and history work which Larry shares with readers here at Phillies Nation, his “Minor League Report” pieces now also run with us all during the season as well.

Lehigh Valley, International League North Division

**IronPigs (40–42) split a doubleheader (7-inning games) against the Bisons in Buffalo . . . 4-game series at home with Pawtucket Red Sox begins at 7:05 tonight.

Game #1: 5–4 loss in 8 innings on a 1-out, 2-run walk-off single. Buffalo sent the game into extra innings with 2 in B7 on blown save by Yacksel Rios (3), .2–2–0–0–1–1 . . . Starter: Enyel De Los Santos, 6.1–6–3–2–1–5, HR; Austin Davis (LP, 2–1; BS, 2), .1–2–1–1–1–0 . . . Seven different players had 1 hit each; 3 different players had an RBI each.

Game #2: 6–4 win, scoring 3 in T6 and 1 in T7 . . . WP: Kyle Dohy (2–4), 3rd of 5 pitchers, 1.2–2–1–1–1–1. SV: Edubray Ramos (4), 1–0–0–0–1–0 . . . 2B Ali Castillo, 2–3, RBI. CF Adam Haseley, 1–2, walk, run, HR (#1, 9 overall), 2 RBI. 1B Austin Listi, 1–3, run, double, 3 RBI.

Streaking: Nick Williams, 2–6, in the DH; has hit in all 17 AAA games this season, .403. Dating back to 2017, he’s hit in 22 straight games, one shy of the club record set by Scott Kingery.

Transaction: LHR Jacob Hernandez, assigned from Reading.

Reading, Eastern League Eastern Division [39–28, 2nd place, 1st half]

**Fightin Phils (11–6) hung on for an 8–6 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats who scored 2 in T9 and left the bases loaded. Start of game was delayed by rain for 37 minutes . . . Finished 7–1 in the homestand . . . Big fireworks crowd at FirstEnergy Stadium, 8,017 . . . Open 4-game series in Richmond, 6:30 tonight.

Pitching: Starter JoJo Romero was the winner (3–3, 5–5 overall), 6–4–3–3–2–5 . . . Luis Cedeno, in AA debut, 1.2–2–1–1–2–3 . . . SV: Jonathan Hennigan (1, 8 overall), 1.1–3–2–2–0–0.

Hitting: CF Grenny Cumana, 3–5, run, triple, RBI . . . 2-run triples for SS Arquimedes Gamboa and RF Cornelius Randolph . . . LF Raul Rivas, 2–4, RBI . . . 2B Jose Gomez, 2–3, 2 walks, 2 runs . . . 3B Alec Bohm, 0–4, walk; has reached base in all 13 games since he joined Reading; Fightins are 10–3 with him in the lineup . . . 1B Darick Hall, 2 doubles giving him 25 which leads the EL . . . 3 triples gives the Fightins 33, most in the league.

Weird Play: NH’s Riley Adams cleared the bases with a triple in T6. Attempting an inside-the-park HR, he was thrown out on the play. Relay throw from 2B Gomez hit SS Arquimedes Gamboa in the head. It ricocheted to 3B Bohm who threw to C Henri Lartigue for the out. Gamboa had to leave the game.

Clearwater, Florida State League North Division [36–30, 2nd place, 1st half]

**Threshers (10–6) were held to 1 hit in being swept in a 3-game series by the Fort Myers Miracle, 1–0 . . . Fireworks crowd of 10,055 is a new single game record for Spectrum Field . . . 6:30 tonight vs. the Tarpons in Tampa.

Pitching: LP: Julian Garcia

(5–5), 7–2–1–1–3–4, HR in T7. Hsin-Chieh Lin followed, 2–0–0–0–0–1, his Clearwater debut.

Hitting: SS Dan Brito had the lone hit, a double.

Lakewood, South Atlantic League North Division [29–41, 1st half]

**BlueClaws (5–9) blanked the Delmarva Shorebirds on 1 single, 2–0, before a fireworks crowd of 8,204 (season high) at FirstEnergy Park . . . Won 2 of 3 from the first-half champion Birds . . . 4-game series in Greensboro begins at 7:00 tonight.

Pitching: WP: Manny Silva (2–2), 5–1–0–0–2–2; hit came in T5 . . . SV: Ethan Lindow (1), 4–0–0–0–3–3.

Hitting: Claws had 5 singles . . . 2B Jonathan Guzman, 2–4, run, RBI, stolen base (24) . . . SS Luis Garcia, 1–4, RBI.

Williamsport, New York-Penn League Pinckney Division

**Crosscutters (4–15) was shut out by Mahoning Valley Scrappers, 2–0 . . . 1:05 afternoon game today vs. West Virginia Black Bears.

Pitching: LP: 6-foot-8 Taylor Lehman (0–1), 4–8–1–1–0–4 . . . Jose Conopoima, very impressive outing, 3–0–0–0–0–7; 6 consecutive strikeouts.

Hitting: Offense consisted of 5 singles, 5 walks and 3 hit batters . . . 5 different players had a hit each . . . Had bases loaded, no outs in B8 but couldn’t score.

Gulf Coast League (Phillies have 2 teams, both in the North Division)

**West (6–2) posted 4th straight shutout, this one 6–0 over the Tigers West in Lakeland . . . Four pitched combined for a 3-hitter (all singles) and didn’t issue a walk which is very unusual for this level . .. Starter: Daniel Vilchez, 4–2–0–0–0–2. WP: Connor Hinchcliffe (1–0), 2–0–0–0–0–3; undrafted 2019 signee out of LaSalle . . . 3B Jose Rivera, 2–4, run, double, 2 RBI . . . CF Johan Rojas, 2–5 . . . Play Phillies East, 12 noon, today; 2nd of 8 meetings between the 2 Phillies clubs.

**East (2–3) and Blue Jays were suspended in T3 by rain at Carpenter Complex. Game will be completed at later date. Blue Jays lead, 6–1.
