Every day until Opening Day arrives, Phillies Nation will take a daily look back at a regular season victory from that particular day in history that you can watch in full in lieu of live Phillies baseball. Think of it is as your daily Phillies watch recommendation.
For the first time since 1979, a Phillies pitcher hit eighth. Oddly enough, the man who occupied the nine-hole during the 5-4 extra-innings victory over the Mets won it for the Phillies. With two runners in scoring position with two outs and an 0-2 count, Peter Bourjos hit a sharp ground ball to David Wright at third. Wright was unable to throw the speedy Bourjos out at first and with Freddy Galvis scoring from third, the Phillies clinched a 5-5 record on their season-long ten-game homestand.
The walk-off win could not have been possible without a stellar effort from the bullpen. Héctor Neris, Dalier Hinojosa and Jeanmar Gómez combined for six and two thirds innings of shutout ball.
