Cliff Lee was the most coveted starting pitcher on the free agent market during the 2010-2011 offseason. The Phillies eventually won his signature and constructed one of the most lethal starting rotations in baseball history. With Roy Halladay getting the nod on Opening Day, Lee was due to pitch second for the 2011 Phillies. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings in a 9-4 Phillies victory, marking the first time since 1980 the team started the season 2-0 at home.
