Phillies Nation Perfect Season: Hamels does it all in win against Arizona
Every day until Opening Day arrives, Phillies Nation will take a daily look back at a regular season victory from that particular day in history that you can watch in full in lieu of live Phillies baseball. Think of it is as your daily Phillies watch recommendation.
On April 25, 2012, Cole Hamels was virtually unstoppable. He was a missed strike three call and a mishandled foul tip away from carrying a perfect game into the seventh inning. Nevertheless, Hamels posted a line of 7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K during a 7-2 Phillies victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
On that same night, Hunter Pence stepped up with a two-hit, two-RBI night, continuing his hot start to the 2012 season. Hamels also produced at the plate, hitting a two-run single in the sixth. Freddy Galvis also made his first start at shortstop for the Phillies.
