Bryce Harper defends Philadelphia to Instagram troll

In his first year plus as a Phillie, Harper has not held back his feelings on his new team and city. Instagram trolls have also refrained from holding back on how they feel about Harper’s decision to a sign a lucrative contract with a division rival:

If you can recall, rumors of Harper not wanting to play for the Phillies made their way around social media at the tail-end of free agency. According to Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media, Harper did not want to sign with Philadelphia because he did “not want to play for Gabe Kapler due to analytics and quirky personality.”

That rumor turned out to be wildly false as it was announced two days later he was signing a 13-year, $330 million contract with the Phillies. Back in spring training, Harper shared his thoughts on the former Phillies manager, which were mostly positive.
