Phillies Nation Perfect Season: Seranthony Domínguez earns first career save
Every day until Opening Day arrives, Phillies Nation will take a daily look back at a regular season victory from that particular day in history that you can watch in full in lieu of live Phillies baseball. Think of it is as your daily Phillies watch recommendation.
May 19, 2018 – Phillies 7, Cardinals 6
Rookie reliever Seranthony Domínguez threw two scoreless innings in St. Louis for the Phillies, retiring all six batters he faced and earning the first save of his major-league career. The young right-hander preserved a one-run lead for the team on its way to a victory over the Cardinals.
Domínguez was brought into the game after Jorge Alfaro gave the Phillies the lead in the top of the eighth inning with an RBI pinch-hit infield single. The hit by Alfaro capped off a strong offensive game for the team in which they scored seven runs.
