With Opening Day just one day away for the Philadelphia Phillies, the team has put together its roster that will kick off the 2020 season.

The Phillies announced its initial roster Thursday afternoon, which includes 29 players. The team can still add one player prior to its first game on Friday.

16 pitchers are included on this roster, including expected Opening Day starter Aaron Nola, free-agent signing Zack Wheeler and closer Héctor Neris.

The roster includes two catchers in All-Star J.T. Realmuto and his backup Andrew Knapp.

Five infielders made the team to start the year, including Rhys Hoskins and first-year Phillie Didi Gregorius. Veteran switch hitter Neil Walker also made the roster.

The outfield consists of six players. Former MVPs Bryce Harper and Andrew McCutchen will make their second Opening Day appearances for the Phillies. 2020 will be the first Opening Day in Kyle Garlick, Adam Haseley and Roman Quinn’s careers, and Jay Bruce’s first with the team.

This will also be the first Opening Day for pitchers Austin Davis, Deolis Guerra, Cole Irvin, Trevor Kelley, Reggie McClain and Ramón Rosso.

Five players on the roster are rookies. Rosso is the only Phillie who has never played in the majors before. Garlick, Irvin, Kelley and McClain played in the major leagues last season, but are also rookie eligible.

Top prospects Spencer Howard and Alec Bohm are among the most notable players not included on this roster. It is expected that they will both make their major-league debuts at some point this season, possibly once the team gains an extra year of control of these players next week.

The Phillies start the season at Citizens Bank Park against the Miami Marlins on Friday, July 24, at 7:05 p.m.
