Just when you thought you were out, they pull you back in.
After losing Game 1 of Thursday’s doubleheader to Max Scherzer and the Washington Nationals, the Philadelphia Phillies appeared headed for two losses in one day.
Instead, they erased a 7-0 deficit to defeat the Nationals, capped off by a walk-off grand slam by Brad Miller in extras:
As Phillies Nation‘s Ty Daubert put it, you’d have to say that this is the most notable walk-off grand slam hit at Citizens Bank Park by a Phillie wearing the powder blue throwbacks.
With the win, the Phillies improve to 51-51, leaving Dave Dombrowski to ponder how much to bet on this team’s chances of winning the lowly National League East.
