Phillies tender contracts to 3 arbitration eligible players, agree to terms with Seranthony Domínguez

The Phillies announced that they have tendered a contract to their three remaining arbitration eligible players: Rhys Hoskins, Zach Eflin and José Alvarado. Additionally, Seranthony Domínguez and the Phillies came to terms on a one-year, $725,000 deal, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Domínguez is in his second year of arbitration eligibility. Roman Quinn, who was designated for assignment on Monday, was non-tendered.

The Phillies also announced that they non-tendered pitcher Kyle Dohy and re-signed him to a minor-league deal with an invite to spring training. That essentially opens up a roster spot for a potential free agent signing or trade acquisition.

Both Hoskins and Alvarado are in their second year of arbitration eligibility. Eflin is in his third and final season of salary arbitration.

This year’s tender deadline for arbitration eligible players was moved up to give non-tendered players a chance to potentially sign a deal with a new team before the anticipated Dec. 1 work stoppage.

Hoskins, Alvarado and Eflin will likely wait until a new collective bargaining agreement is in place before they either decide to go to salary arbitration or come to an agreement with the team on a 2022 salary. MLB Trade Rumors projects Hoskins to make $7.6 million in 2022 as well as $6 million for Eflin and $1.9 million for Alvarado.
