Janko from LanCo is about to become Janko from Queens. Or at least that’s what he hopes happens in 2022.

According to Jon Heyman of Audacy Sports, former Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Travis Jankowski has agreed to a minor-league deal with the New York Mets that will be worth $1.25 million if he ultimately reaches the majors.

A year ago, Jankowski began the season with the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs, but ultimately saw action in 76 games for the Phillies. While he was notably picked off at second base early in his time with the team, Jankowski went on to hit .252 with a .364 on-base percentage in 157 plate appearances, while seeing time at all three outfield positions.

The 30-year-old has spent parts of seven seasons at the Major League level, also playing for the San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds. The Mets starting outfield looks like one of the best on paper, with offseason pickups Starling Marte and Mark Canha set to join Brandon Nimmo. J.D. Davis and Dominic Smith both have experience in left field as well.
