The Philadelphia Phillies completed a trade Tuesday that allowed them to strengthen their organizational depth.

Outfielder Dustin Peterson was acquired in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers for cash considerations, the team announced. Peterson has been assigned to the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

A second-round pick of the San Diego Padres in 2013, Peterson has hit just .217 in 46 career Major League at-bats. 44 of those at-bats came with the Detroit Tigers in 2019, a year after he received two at-bats with the Atlanta Braves.

Peterson had appeared in just three games this season for the Nashville Sounds, the Triple-A affiliate of the Brewers. A year ago, Peterson slashed .272/.347/.416 with nine home runs, 56 RBIs and a .762 OPS in 77 games at the Triple-A level.

The 27-year-old will join Roman Quinn, Jorge Bonifacio, Justin Williams and John Andreoli as Triple-A outfield depth.
