Philadelphia Phillies Wall of Famer John Kruk was part of a three-man broadcast booth Friday with Tom McCarthy and Ben Davis, but is not on the air for NBC Sports Philadelphia for Saturday evening’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The 61-year-old said on Twitter that he’s dealing with some health issues and slated to have surgery on Monday, before returning to his home in Florida to recover:
I did last nights game but health issues will keep me from doing games for a while

Spent the day in the hospital getting tests run, surgery monday, should be back soon

It shouldn’t be long, going home after surgery to recover then should be good to go

Kruk didn’t specify what he’s having surgery on, but everyone at Phillies Nation wishes him the best in his recovery.
