The Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers, an affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, announced that they have acquired former Phillies outfielder Roman Quinn via free agency.
Quinn, 29, returned to the Phillies for a brief stint this season. In 40 plate appearances, Quinn slashed .162/.225/.189. His best moment came on May 22 when he entered the game as a defensive replacement. In the 10th inning, Quinn singled and ended up scoring all the way from second on a fielding error by Max Muncy.
Quinn was designated for assignment by the Phillies on June 1 and elected free agency after clearing waivers. He debuted with the Phillies in 2016 and was drafted by Philadelphia in the second round of the 2011 draft.
