Final Score: Reds 1, Phillies 0
There was considerably less offense on the getaway day for the Philadelphia Phillies, as the bats stayed quiet during most of the game. Another great Ranger Suárez start kept the Phils in the game, but the offense couldn’t come through in a deflating loss to the Cincinnati Reds.
Suárez cruised through innings, with the help of some tremendous defense behind him:
Suárez’s opponent on the mound, Nick Lodolo, was tremendous as well, limiting the Phillies offense to just five hits and no runs over seven innings.
After a scoreless inning from David Robertson, Seranthony Domínguez gave up a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth that lost the game for Philadelphia:

Nick Lodolo: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, 98 pitches
The rookie left-hander made a few mistakes Wednesday, but the Phillies couldn’t capitalize on them. He threw seven innings of shutout ball and looked comfortable doing so.
Ranger Suárez: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, 95 pitches
Suárez has been fantastic since his return from the IL, as he appears to be finding the grove that helped him to his 1.36 ERA in 2021.
