Game 3 of the World Series has been postponed, Major League Baseball announced Monday evening.
Inclement weather made it impossible to play the first game at Citizens Bank Park. The weather in Houston for Game 1 of the World Series was disastrous, but the tilt went on as scheduled because Minute Maid Park features a retractable roof. Citizens Bank Park obviously does not.
Instead, Game 3 will be played Tuesday night. Game 4 will be played on Wednesday night, and Game 5 will be played Thursday. Friday will now be an off day, with Games 6 and 7 set to be played in Houston on Saturday and Sunday, if necessary:
Rob Thomson said after the announcement that Ranger Suárez will now pitch Game 3, Aaron Nola Game 4, Noah Syndergaard Game 5 and Zack Wheeler Game 6.
