The wind knocked down two well hit balls from the Philadelphia Phillies early in Game 5 of the NLCS, but there wasn’t any stopping the ball that Rhys Hoskins hit in his second at-bat of the contest.
In the bottom of the third inning, Hoskins took Yu Darvish deep to give the Phillies a 2-0 lead:
It was Hoskins’ fourth home run of the NLCS, and fifth total during this postseason run. If the Phillies hold on and clinch the NL pennant — Juan Soto hit a solo shot in the top of the fourth inning to get the Padres on the board — then Hoskins may be the NLCS MVP.
