Watch: Kyle Schwarber hits leadoff home run

A night after saying “I really don’t give a shit” when asked about the history of the Philadelphia Phillies being no hit by the Houston Astros in the World Series, Kyle Schwarber led off with a home run off of Justin Verlander:

The home run tied the game after Jeremy Peña had given the Astros a 1-0 lead with a single that scored Jose Altuve in the top of the first inning.

For Schwarber, it’s the latest in a long list of leadoff home runs at key times this year, including on Opening Day, in Game 2 of a crucial September doubleheader against the Washington Nationals, the playoff-clinching win in Houston and NLCS Game 3.

After hitting the ball 110.6 MPH, Schwarber delivered perhaps his best bat flip of the season:
