The Phillies made the 11-year, $300 million deal with Trea Turner official on Thursday morning. The club will hold an introductory press conference at Citizens Bank Park at 4. p.m. ET Thursday afternoon.
Turner will wear No. 7 with the Phillies. He previously wore No. 7 with the Washington Nationals and 6 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. No. 7 was taken by Julio Urías during Turner’s tenure with the Dodgers.
Former Phillies who previously wore No. 7 include Mariano Duncan, Kenny Lofton, Pedro Feliz and Maikel Franco.
The Taijuan Walker and Matt Strahm signings are not yet official, as both deals are pending a physical. Matt Gelb of The Athletic recently reported that the Phillies plan on holding a separate media event for Walker.
