Phillies legend Jimmy Rollins is expected to make an appearance at Phillies spring training as a guest instructor, according to Scott Palmer.
Former Phillies manager and baseball Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg was on hand to take in parts of camp last Friday.
Rollins was last at Phillies spring training as a guest instructor in 2019. He was hired by the organization as a special assistant to the president of baseball operations in 2022.
The former Phillies shortstop spent 15 years in Philadelphia, slashing .267/.327/.424 with 216 home runs, 887 RBIs and 453 stolen bases. He won the National League MVP award in 2007. 2024 will mark Jimmy Rollins’ third year on the Baseball Hall of Fame ballot. He received 9.4% of the vote in 2023.
It’s a fun year to have Rollins in camp considering the vibes are high coming off a surprising pennant win and the Phillies added one of the best shortstops in the sport to the roster in Trea Turner.
