The Phillies’ season-opening road trip is over, and, well, it was not great.
A sweep in Texas and a series loss in New York leave the Phillies with a 1-5 record to start the season — tied for the worst record in baseball. What, exactly, went wrong? Plenty.
After the last of those fives losses, a 4-2 defeat to the Yankees, Tim Kelly and Nathan Ackerman spoke on Twitter Spaces about the brutal start, glaring roster holes and the few positives from the first week. They discuss Cristian Pache’s struggles and a potential replacement, Gregory Soto’s up-and-down start, José Alvarado’s filthiness and Alec Bohm’s scorching first few games.
