Former Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins is heading to Milwaukee.

Hoskins, according to a report from Jeff Passan of ESPN, agreed to a two-year, $34 million deal with the Brewers. The deal comes with an opt out after the 2024 season.

A return to Philadelphia was ruled out after the Phillies announced earlier in the offseason that Bryce Harper would permanently move to first base. Hoskins missed all of 2023 with a torn ACL he suffered in spring training and will look to leverage a bounce back 2024 campaign with Milwaukee into an even bigger contract next offseason.

Hoskins spent the first seven years of his career with the Phillies, hitting at least 27 home runs in four full seasons with the club. He debuted in August 2017 and hit 18 home runs in his first 34 games in the majors.

His best stretch with the Phillies came during the 2022 National League Division and Championship Series. He took one of the most famous swings in team history when he crushed a middle in fastball off Spencer Strider to give the Phillies a 4-0 lead in Game 3 of the NLDS. The bat spike that followed will be remembered for years to come.

Hoskins will make his return to Philadelphia on June 3 when the Brewers come to town for a three-game set.
