Phillies OK after team bus accident in Fort Myers

A Phillies team bus was involved in an accident following Monday’s game against the Red Sox in Fort Myers, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.

None of the players and staff on board were injured. The accident happened when the driver of a vehicle rear-ended the bus on I-75. Per Zolecki, the status of the driver is unknown, though he “seemed to be OK” at the scene.

Johan Rojas, Edmundo Sosa and Yunior Marte were among the players on board. The bus reportedly resumed its journey an hour after the accident and everyone on board returned home to Clearwater safely.

Some members of the organization stayed overnight in Fort Myers as the Phillies are scheduled to play the Twins Tuesday at Hammond Stadium. Trea Turner, Bryson Stott, Orion Kerkering and Cristian Pache are among the players scheduled to travel to Fort Myers and play in Tuesday’s game, per Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia
