Nine new Nike City Connect uniforms will debut during the 2024 season, with the releases staggered over the first half of the season. The Philadelphia Phillies will be one of the first teams up in the order.

The Phillies plan to debut their City Connect uniforms in April, Phillies Nation has confirmed. MLB.com‘s Todd Zolecki was the first to report this. Exact dates for the unveiling of the full uniform and what game it will be worn on the field first haven’t been revealed, but expect to see them in game action during the first full month of the season.

Back in January, Paul Lukas of Uni Watch shared an eBay listing of what appeared to be the City Connect jerseys.

No one from the team confirmed that these are indeed the City Connect jerseys, but the fact that they didn’t mobilize to shout down the leaks makes you believe these are legitimate. The pants and hat that go with the uniform have yet to surface.

The City Connect uniforms — which appear to be based on the Philadelphia flag — will join the team’s home pinstripes, road grays, alternate cream and throwback powder blue uniforms as the five in mix currently.

Because of Nike’s “4+1” rule, the Phillies needed to eliminate a uniform from their previous rotation to make room for the City Connects. In December, Phillies Nation was the first to report that the Phillies would no longer wear their red jerseys, both as Spring Training tops and “getaway day” threads during the regular season.

In addition to the Phillies, the New York Mets, Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Guardians, Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays will all be getting City Connect uniforms during the 2024 season. The Dodgers will become the first team to get a second CC uniform, which will seemingly replace the unpopular blue tops — and, at times, blue bottoms — they have worn sparingly over the last three seasons.
