While the Phillies are giving fans every reason to keep their attention on the major-league club this year, Aidan Miller is reminding people not to forget about the happenings in Clearwater.
The Phillies’ second-best prospect had another four-hit game for the Threshers on Wednesday, and this one was even better than the last. Miller went 4-for-5 with two doubles, four RBIs and his third homer of the season in the Threshers’ 9-8 loss to the Tampa Tarpons, the Yankees’ Single-A affiliate.
It’s the third three-plus-hit game in 18 contests for Miller this season. He’s recorded at least one hit in 14 games.
Miller’s season slash is now up to .342/.400/.566, good for a .966 OPS. Despite Wednesday’s loss, Miller’s production is a key catalyst for the Threshers’ 19-11 record this year, second place in the Florida State League West. More importantly, though, he’s living up to his billing as one of the upper-tier prospects in the sport.

Craig Kimbrel is struggling with Baltimore. He blew a save on Wednesday for the fourth time this season. (For context, he blew five last regular season.) His ERA climbed to 4.73. Still, Orioles manager Brandon Hyde defaulted to the back of the baseball card in giving Kimbrel a vote of confidence after the game.
