The Phillies Show: How a chat with Trea Turner fueled Bryce Harper’s hot streak

Bryce Harper and Trea Turner are in their second season together as teammates with the Phillies. (Destiny Lugardo/Phillies Nation)

Bryce Harper has started to heat up at the plate. Over his last seven games, the two-time NL MVP has posted a .409/.552/.818 slash line with three home runs. Going back further, over his last 15 games, Harper has a 1.090 OPS.

In the latest episode of “The Phillies Show” podcast, Ruben Amaro Jr., Jim Salisbury and Todd Zolecki discuss Harper’s recent hot streak and how a chat with Trea Turner has played a part in it. And it’s not just Harper that Turner has helped. The Phillies’ shortstop, currently on the injured list because of a hamstring injury, also talked with Alec Bohm and Johan Rojas to help them at the plate as Zolecki points out and recently wrote about for MLB.com.

Amaro, Salisbury and Zolecki touch on a few other subjects, too, including the Phillies’ upcoming series against the Marlins in Miami and one of the most iconic Phillies moments of all time that happened to take place in Miami — Roy Halladay’s perfect game.
