This weekend, the Phillies will host the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citizens Bank Park for a three-game set. It will be the first time the two teams play against one another since the 2023 National League Championship Series.
In order to watch this weekend’s series, fans will have to tune into a different broadcast each day.
Friday night’s series opener, scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET, will only be watchable on Apple TV+, which requires a subscription. And while it’s considered a national broadcast, those who regularly tune into the Phillies’ local broadcasts will hear some familiar voices. Tom McCarthy, John Kruk and Taryn Hatcher will be part of the broadcast team working Friday night’s game. The trio will be joined by former big-league outfielder Ryan Spilborghs.
Before Friday’s game, the Phillies will honor Cole Hamels with an on-field retirement ceremony. Apple TV+ will provide full coverage of the ceremony.
For those without an Apple TV+ subscription, NBC Sports Philadelphia will also cover the pre-game festivities honoring Hamels.
Saturday’s game will be broadcast like most other games on NBC Sports Philadelphia, with first pitch slated for 4:05 p.m. ET.
The series finale on Sunday will be a bit different. First pitch is scheduled for 11:35 a.m. ET and will only be viewable through Roku, the new home for MLB Sunday Leadoff.
Unlike Friday night’s Apple TV+ game, no subscription will be required to watch Sunday’s game. Fans will be able to stream the game on The Roku Channel, which is free and can be accessed using any Roku device, The Roku Channel website, The Roku Channel app or Roku’s mobile app. Those with an MLB.TV subscription will be able to watch Sunday’s game that way, too, as the game won’t be subject to blackout restrictions.
