This weekend, the Phillies will host the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citizens Bank Park for a three-game set. It will be the first time the two teams play against one another since the 2023 National League Championship Series.

In order to watch this weekend’s series, fans will have to tune into a different broadcast each day.

Friday night’s series opener, scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET, will only be watchable on Apple TV+, which requires a subscription. And while it’s considered a national broadcast, those who regularly tune into the Phillies’ local broadcasts will hear some familiar voices. Tom McCarthy, John Kruk and Taryn Hatcher will be part of the broadcast team working Friday night’s game. The trio will be joined by former big-league outfielder Ryan Spilborghs.

Before Friday’s game, the Phillies will honor Cole Hamels with an on-field retirement ceremony. Apple TV+ will provide full coverage of the ceremony.

For those without an Apple TV+ subscription, NBC Sports Philadelphia will also cover the pre-game festivities honoring Hamels.

Saturday’s game will be broadcast like most other games on NBC Sports Philadelphia, with first pitch slated for 4:05 p.m. ET.

The series finale on Sunday will be a bit different. First pitch is scheduled for 11:35 a.m. ET and will only be viewable through Roku, the new home for MLB Sunday Leadoff.

Unlike Friday night’s Apple TV+ game, no subscription will be required to watch Sunday’s game. Fans will be able to stream the game on The Roku Channel, which is free and can be accessed using any Roku device, The Roku Channel website, The Roku Channel app or Roku’s mobile app. Those with an MLB.TV subscription will be able to watch Sunday’s game that way, too, as the game won’t be subject to blackout restrictions.

  • So Tired of this money grab by the Phillies and MLB. Give the games to one paid outlet and be done with it. Getting us to subscribe to multiple services sucks. I will listen to it on Radio or find something else to do

  • Please stop with trying to get MORE money from your fans!! Leave the games on the channels so that everyone can see them!! You are hurting your biggest audience, the elderly!! They dont pay for all those channels, don't know how to do it & dont want to. They just want to watch their PHILS! SHAME ON YOU ALL!!

  • I'm not paying a monthly fee to Apple to watch a couple of games during the season. I'll find something else to do while these games are playing. Maybe sort my Tupperware lids or give the cat a home perm !
