The Phillies on Wednesday morning officially announced the club’s first jersey patch sponsorship with local health insurance provider Independence Blue Cross (IBX).
The press conference, which included remarks from Phillies managing partner John Middleton and IBX president and CEO Gregory E. Deavens, ended with the unveiling of the new patch on the sleeves of the jersey.

Middleton declined to reveal the length and financial terms of the new agreement. The New York Yankees, for example, signed a deal with Starr Insurance in 2023 for around $25 million per season, according to a report.
The new patch will make its debut during Wednesday’s series finale against New York. Right-handed batters and pitchers will wear the sleeve on the left sleeve while the left-handed batters and pitchers will have the patch on their right-hand side.
