There appears to be a winner in the Garrett Crochet sweepstakes.

Per Julian McWilliams of the Boston Globe, the Boston Red Sox are close to acquiring Crochet in a deal with the White Sox that includes top catching prospect Kyle Teel.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic added that the deal also includes outfielder Braden Montgomery, infielder Chase Meidroth and right-hander Wikelman Gonzalez. Teel and Montgomery were the last two first-round picks of the Red Sox.

The Phillies were one of the most aggressive teams for Crochet at the trade deadline in July. They balked at including top pitching prospect Andrew Painter in the deal. The White Sox reportedly rejected a deal from the Phillies that included Alec Bohm and Justin Crawford.
