Opening Day is here, which means official answers on the Phillies’ Opening Day roster: The club announced it on Thursday morning, with no surprises.

The roster battles in spring training were between Rafael Marchan and Garrett Stubbs for backup catcher (with the former prevailing), a few names for the final bench spot (Kody Clemens won) and an assortment for a bullpen job, with it ultimately going to late-camp waiver claim Carlos Hernández.

As such, here are the 26 players on the Opening Day roster.

Pitchers (13): Lefties Jesús Luzardo, Cristopher Sánchez, José Alvarado, Tanner Banks and Matt Strahm; righties Aaron Nola, Zack Wheeler, Carlos Hernández, Orion Kerkering, Jordan Romano, Joe Ross, José Ruiz and Taijuan Walker

Catchers (2): Rafael Marchan and J.T. Realmuto

Infielders (6): Alec Bohm, Kody Clemens, Bryce Harper, Edmundo Sosa, Bryson Stott and Trea Turner

Outfielders (4): Nick Castellanos, Max Kepler, Brandon Marsh and Johan Rojas

Designated Hitter (1): Kyle Schwarber

  • Phiillies this is your EtchaSketch Moment....where you can wipe away 2024 and start over with a new outlook. I do not get all of your games down here in South Florida, but I do watch you on the weekends with a friend in Port St. Lucie. Here is wishing the team, its managers and coaches all the best in 2025 as we all celebrate Opening Day in Baseball.
