Phillies Nation Podcast: All-Star break buzz and second-half predictions

Monday’s Home Run Derby at Dodger Stadium offered plenty of discussion points — including, of course, No. 1 seed Kyle Schwarber coming up short in a first-round upset by Albert Pujols. Ty Daubert and Nathan Ackerman discuss Schwarber’s Derby showing, as well as a related conspiracy theory and some musings on Pete Alonso.

Speaking of the Home Run Derby and discussion points, Juan Soto had himself quite the All-Star Week. Ty and Nathan talk about the NL East slugger and Derby champion rejecting a 15-year, $440 million deal with the Washington Nationals and imagine some trade scenarios to bring Soto to Philly.

Finally, they preview and predict the Phillies’ second half, including potential trade deadline moves and whether the Phillies will end their playoff drought. Oh, and Jonathan Papelbon.
