Watch: Rob Thomson delivers speech after Phillies clinch postseason spot

After a disappointing 22-29 start to the 2022 season, Dave Dombrowski and the Philadelphia Phillies made the decision to fire Joe Girardi, naming Rob Thomson — his long-time right-hand man — as the interim manager.

Monday, the Phillies won their 65th game under Thomson, clinching a trip back to the postseason for the first time since 2011:

Under Thomson, the Phillies have posted a .596 winning percentage. While his future as the manager is uncertain, one would think that snapping a decade-long postseason drought will go a long way in convincing Dombrowski and company to remove the interim tag from Thomson’s title.
