Don’t look now, but Jimmy Rollins is hitting the ball. His average (.223) is the highest it has been since opening night. His on-base percentage (.268) is his highest all season. His slugging percentage (.325), too. He has recorded a hit and scored in each of the last eight games. The Phillies record in those eight? 6-2.
This all comes after my post slamming Rollins for his offensive struggles.
Coincidence?
Please. I’m just messing. Still, it’s nice that Rollins has raised his game lately, but there’s a long way to go. If he does continue this pattern, however, the Phils will benefit in spades. We all know as Jimmy goes, so do the Phillies.
