Good morning! It’s November, and there’s no Justin Timberlake meme for that.
The news:
- Phils second base prospect Scott Kingery was named to the Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game, which is Saturday.
Kingery is hitting a pedestrian .261/.292/.370 in 46 at bats in the AFL.
- Meghan Montemurro has a nice piece looking at Terry Francona’s road to managing in numerous World Series. That road started in Philadelphia, of course, where he had the reigns of some bad teams.
Montemurro claims the bullpen was a major flaw of those teams. It was, but we shouldn’t forget that, well, the teams were bad all the way through. Besides a few star players, Francona’s teams were generally bad, products of a low payroll despite being in a big market.
- The Phillie Phanatic and Mickey Morandini hosted a Monster Mash Halloween Bash for patients at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Very cool.
