Here are today’s news bits:
ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER L: The Phillies are 1-3 this spring after dropping yet another one to the Spring Training World Champion New York Yankees.
But oh well. It’s fine, because Scott Kingery has risen like a phoenix. His skin is crackling as fire shoots from every limb. He is born.
Kingery went 3-for-3, with the best of the three being his very last plate appearance. With two outs in the ninth and down one, Kingery belted a game-tying home run. The Phils would lose a half-inning later on a walk-off homer, but dude, Scotty Jetpax. Gabe Kapler later called it the best at bat the Phils have had all spring.
Meanwhile, Ben Lively struck out three in two innings of work, and Tom Eshelman struck out two in his two.
TODAY’S GAME: The Phils are back at it Tuesday, hosting the Tigers at 1:05 p.m. The game is being carried on MLB Network. Jerad Eickhoff is on the hill for the Phils. The lineup:

Yes, that’s Tommy Joseph in left field. One interesting note: The rotation is turning over with Eickhoff back on the bump, but we haven’t yet seen Vince Velasquez. This will apparently change on Wednesday when he faces the Blue Jays.
NEW FACE: Check out this good piece by Meghan Montemurro at the Athletic about Dana Parks, the player development coordinator who’s one of eight women hired by the Phillies since the end of 2017. Parks takes on a number of duties in player development, including working in transactions and day-to-day roster management.
ARRIETA ALERT: Nothing really new, actually. As we know, the Phils are reportedly interested in Jake Arrieta on a three-year deal. That’s the news.
