Phillies Nation is honored to have Larry Shenk among the ranks of our regular contributors.
“The Baron” is the former Philadelphia Phillies head of community relations, a role in which he served the organization for more than four decades. Larry is also a 2018 inductee to the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame.
In addition to the Phillies alumni and history work which Larry shares with readers here at Phillies Nation, his “Minor League Report” pieces now also run with us all during the season as well.

**Fightin Phils (31–21) won their third straight over the visiting Richmond Flying Squirrels, 5–2 . . . Fourth straight series win . . . First time 10 at .500 . . . Second-place Fightins are one game behind first-place Trenton . . . Series with Richmond ends with a 9:45 game this morning, David Parkinson (5–2). It will be his ninth start, third vs. Richmond.
Pitching: Four pitchers combined to four-hit Richmond . . . The four hits came of starter JoJo Romero, 4.2–4–2–2–0–1, balk; ejected by the home plate umpire in the fifth inning . . . **Threshers (29–27) was unable to hold a 4–1 lead after six innings against the first-place Dunedin Blue Jays who won in 10 innings, 5–4 . . . Loss dropped fourth-place Clearwater 5.5 games behind in the first half with 11 games remaining . . . Jupiter Hammerheads follow for a four-game series which opens at 7 tonight. Threshers recently swept a four-game series in Jupiter. (Florida city, not the planet).

Pitching: Starter Francisco Morales didn’t get out of the first inning, .2–0–1–1–4–1 . . . LP: Victor Santos (2–6), 4–3–1–1–0–5, wild pitch.
Hitting: LF Malvin Matos, 2–4, run, two RBI, HR (#4) . . . CF Yerwin Trejo ended the game with a pop up to second base with the tying run on second base . . . Jonathan Guzman’s hitting streak ended at 13 games.

**New York-Penn League (Williamsport Crosscutters) season opens June 14.
**Gulf Coast League season opens June 24 at Carpenter Complex. Phillies again will field two teams, East and West.
Additional note: the Phillies are fielding two teams (red and white) in the Dominican Summer League, which opened play this past weekend.
